My Experience with Santo Correnti Homes

I have entered a contract with Santo Correnti Homes in January of 2008 to build a fairly modest 4 bedroom home on a leveled block in Springfield Lakes. The process of construction has taken 11+ months to complete and the poor attitude of the staff has made it a very unejoyable process.

I could not recommend anyone use this builder.

I am not just a disgruntled customer (not only) but I would have to say the staff at Santo Correnti Homes have gone out of their way to make the completion of the project as drawn out as they possibly could. I do not know the reason for this - I made no changes to the building design, I did not screw them down on the contract price, I've provided all information about colours and materials well in advance of the required dates and all payments have been made ahead of time.

This company is just very slow to act. It has not been until I've written a couple of very dirty emails to them that they were reinvigorated to bring the project to completion.

If you are contemplating this builder and have no alternative, I would strongly recommend you insert construction completion durations or times into your contract and liquidated damages in the event they do not complete the construction works within the agreed time frame.

I assess the costs to me in finance and lost interest for the 3 months longer that it has taken to complete the project than originally promised to be in excess of $10,000.

I would hate for someone else to have to suffer this impost.

On the up side I was happy with the design. The finishes were within expectation.

They were very difficult to get variation prices resolved - addition of a solar hot water system and some landscaping.

The house was very poorly cleaned on completion and particularly the attitude of Pam and Leanne with arranging the handover of the key was appalling.
